The origins of waxed canvas

Before we like to show you our collection, let's go back in time a bit. Waxed canvas originated in the 15th century, when sailors found out that by applying fish oil and grease, their sails became waterproof. When the sails were broken by a storm, they cut out capes for themselves, which were waterproof. These capes were the predecessors of the well-known wax coats.

Waxed canvas is a very robust fabric and therefore very suitable for use in the garden! Thanks to its smooth surface, it is easy to clean and moisture does not penetrate into the fabric.
