Esschert Design

Esschert Design wants people to enjoy the outdoors in both garden and nature.

Therefore, we develop and sell our own, unique assortment of basic, trend and niche products that are available from stock all year round as well as one off specials.

Characteristics of our products:

Esschert Design’s products are tailored to different consumer lifestyle groups:

To reach a broad consumer audience, Esschert Design facilitates retailers to convey the best possible buying and product experience to their customers (B2B2C).

Our products are sold through various sales channels to retailers (Garden Centres, DIY, E-commerce, Gift Shops, etc.) in more than 65 countries worldwide!

History

Esschert Design designs and produces articles related to garden and nature. These original articles are functional, decorative or both. That makes them surprisingly fun to use and to receive as gifts.

Founder, Mrs Ria Mosterd, started the company in 1989 from the beautiful Twente countryside, in the 15th-century farmhouse "Het Esschert". You can still see this farm today in the logo of today's Esschert Design.

In 1993, two of her four sons (Arend & Gerard Mosterd) joined the company and started the wholesale branch. Right from the start, the wholesale collection was formed by items that were designed by the company itself and produced especially for Esschert Design.

Today, there are some 2.6 million items on the shelf and Esschert Design exports to more than 68 different countries.

Sustainability

Sustainability is in our nature and is deeply rooted in our organization. For over 30 years, we have been striving to create a healthy and liveable outdoor environment. We do this with our collections that encourage outdoor living and promote biodiversity. We want to introduce people, especially children, to nature and the outdoors and ensure they enjoy it—not just this generation, but many generations to come! Therefore, sustainability is in our DNA.

As a growing and leading company, we also have a great responsibility. We want to conduct business sustainably and responsibly with common sense. We aim to structure important themes within our operations for the long term rather than being swayed by daily trends.

Internships

We offer internships to students. Being an official certified training company for Beroepsonderwijs Bedrijfsleven we offer students in the creative industries the possibility to gain experience in, among others, graphic and industrial design and styling. As we are also acknowledged by the knowledge-center for trade, our doors are always open for interns who follow a vocational training in trades. During the entire year we facilitate projects for one or more interns.
