Sneak Peek Wednesday: Discover natural reflection
Wednesday, September 16, 2020
Normally we exhibit our products at trade fairs. Because the traditional fairs are hardly or not organized at the moment, we come up with an alternative: Sneak Peek Wednesday. Every Sneak Peek Wednesday we try to surprise you with a new product or a tip of the veil from the spring and summer collection of 2021.
Nature is our greatest source of inspiration. This can bee seen in our wide range of products. We don't need to reinvent the wheel, sometimes we just have to look closer at the beauty nature offers us.
Origin of mirrors
Mirrors find their origin thousands of years before Christ. Not in the form as we see them now, but pure nature: small dark puddles of stagnant water were used as mirrors. Around 6,000 BC the first mirrors were made of volcanic glass in Turkey and later many variations followed.
Application of water mirrors
Back to the beginning: a water surface as a reflection. Reflections play a major role in our imagination. Just think of reflections in art, photography and architecture. The enormous water surface in the city of Bordeaux is a good example of this last one. But also natural phenomena become even more impressive by a perfect mirror reflection.

Water mirrors in the garden
The new water mirrors of Esschert Design bring this effect to your own garden. The reflection of trees, plants or a beautiful sunset can be seen in the water surface.
A reflection in the water demands perfection. That's why a spirit level is included and the inside of the mirror is black. Capture the perfect picture on a windless day. The water level is easy to dig in the ground and is available in various sizes and models (round, square and rectangular).
The water mirrors also work as a bird bath and will attract more birds to the garden.
