Torches are special eye-catchers and set the mood in any garden. Our various types of torches will make a wonderful place to stay when the weather allows us to sit in the open air for longer again. Of course our torches are also suitable for a lovely autumn fire. Discover here which new top products from the Fancy Flames collection will soon be enriching the upcoming autumn and winter catalog!

Origin of the Finnish and Swedish torches

The Swedish torch and the Finnish candle were invented by Scandinavian soldiers in the Thirty Years’ War, around the beginning of the 16^th century. By using the pine trees they encountered on the way as firewood, the soldiers had to travel fewer distances for their campfire. The soldiers used the torches primarily as a source of heat, light and a way to heat up food and drink.

Swedish Torches

The Swedish torch as we know it today is also made from a small or large trunk of pine tree, which has been cut to about three-quarters from the top. Your customer easily lights the torch, with long matches and the free firelighter supplied, in the core of the tree trunk. The smallest torch will burn for an average of 2.5 to 3.5 hours, the middle one for 3 to 4 hours and the largest torch for up to 5 to 6 hours. Due to the vertical cutting lines, the fire gets a perfect oxygen supply and the log burns evenly and in a controlled manner. Perfect for late and relaxing evenings in the garden!

What’s new:

You usually place a Swedish torch upright, but our new Swedish torch is one to put down! Ideal, because the torch cannot fall over now anyway. This horizontal torch has a notch across (including 2 firelighters), has an even constant flame and is easy to use. The torch is also easy to transport tanks to the rope handle. So you take the log easily while fishing or camping, but it also very well fits into a fire bowl, during a romantic evening outside for example. You might not expect it, but this torch is also suitable for indoor use. By using it in a fireplace, in a cottage for example. The birch wood from which this torch is made, in turn, provides a pleasant fragrance.

Finnish Candles

The Finnish candle is a variation of the Swedish torch. This candle is made from a tree trunk of FSC® certified wood. The Finnish candle has been drilled from top to bottom until over halfway, with an extra hole at the bottom of the side of the candle that contains the wick. This gives the Finnish candle a more concentrated flame and guarantees over an hour of warmth, light and enjoyment. Depending on wind and weather, the Finnish candle will burn faster or slower.

What’s new:

In addition to the colored Finnish candles, you will soon also find a new Finnish candle with a natural color in our new catalog! Just like the current candles, you can order these in a wooden crate per 24 at a time. The natural variant will be available from the end of April this year, but can already be reserved!

You can easily place the Finnish candle and the Swedish torch in the sand or on a stone surface. Afraid that the surface might catch fire? With a bottom plate you have to go to extreme lengths to achieve that. For extra sturdiness and less chance of toppling over, place the torch securely in a torch stand.

Bamboo torches

You will also see a wide range of bamboo torches in our assortment. These torches have a sloping point at the bottom, to make them easy to light in the sand or grass next to the garden path. What is also convenient is that these torches have a refill reservoir. Reuse makes the bamboo torch more durable and can illuminate the garden for an even longer time.

What’s new:

As we expand our Fancy Flames collection with new hardware, fire starters and fuels, you will soon be providing the customer with a fire experienced from start to finish. Offer for example our special torch oil next to the bamboo torches. This can be in your webshop under the heading “frequently bought together items” or place your bamboo torch display next to the fuels in your store as in our sample shelf plan below.

The torch oil comes in handy liter bottles with an easyfill cap. This allows your customer to refill the bamboo torch easily and quickly. By the way, the oil is virtually smoke and soot free!
