Firepot
This terracotta pot with straw is a real garden torch. The pot contains candle wax combined with straw, for a nice wide and high flame. They are very handy to put on the table by placing them in the FF124 standard. These pots have the perfect size because they are small enough for the outdoor table, but on the other hand they also fit well in a fire basket (as an alternative to burning wood in a fire basket).

Swedish torches
Swedish torches are not only a special eye-catcher at a garden party, they also do an excellent job as a light and heat source because they burn vertically and are therefore more concentrated than normal campfires. Swedish torches are made from a round block of wood, into which vertical slots have been sawn in the shape of a cross. Because of the lighter and the perfect supply of oxygen through the slots, the Swedish torch ignites quickly, resulting in a beautiful burning block of wood that lasts for hours.
Did you know?
These torches were used by Swedish soldiers during the Thirty Years' War from 1618 to 1648? They were looking for an easy way to burn moist wood. By sawing the freshly chopped pine trees in a special way, they were able to quickly make firewood. In this way they did not have to travel long distances for firewood for their own camp.
Simple, but very atmospheric. Once the torch is burning you can easily enjoy the Swedish torch for up to a few hours. Ideal as a mood enhancer for the garden. The beauty of the Swedish torch is that you don't need a fire basket. Just place it on a stone base, in a metal container or in the sand.
Standards and accessories for the Swedish torches
Of course you can also put them in a stand or fire basket, for just a little more character.
