DIY drying
Drying can be done in several ways. And it is very easy to do it yourself. That is why we have a large assortment with hangers, herb drying ladders and drying racks. Flowers such as roses and sunflowers are excellent for drying.
Practical...
Dried herbs have many purposes. For tea, herbs like mint and camomile are very suitable. Lavender or rose petals are ideal to use in scented sachets for instance and for cooking, herbs like oregano, thyme, bay leaf and rosemary are great to dry. Be inspired by the many possibilities!
Herbs such as thyme, rosemary and oregano dry best upside down in a clamp or hanger. We have several of these in our range.
…and beautiful!
Not only edible herbs can be dried - almost all flowers are suitable for drying, except those with a soft stem (such as amaryllisses, daffodils and tulips) because they contain too much moisture and are therefore difficult to dry.
Dry freshly picked flowers and herbs for example on our special drying screen or the drying stand. With three stackable layers, your customer has a lot of space to dry without taking up too much room.
Drying in the microwave?
Another way to dry grasses, herbs and flowers, is with a special press. In the past, sometimes a book was sacrificed for the purpose if drying, but a press with screws or straps is much more convenient.
New in our range: the microwave flower and herb press. Traditional drying of herbs can take up to three weeks. Your customer could be short on time. With this terracotta microwave flower press, flowers will dry in just a few minutes! The big advantage compared to the traditional press is that with the microwave press, the colours will be better preserved.
