2. Drying
Almost all flowers are suitable for drying, except those with a soft stem such as tulips, daffodils or amaryllis. Ideal flowers for drying are roses and sunflowers, because these flowers are very sturdy. In addition, these flowers are also very colourful, so success guaranteed! Also cornflower, poppy, cow parsley and grasses are perfect candidates for drying.
Press
A widely used and well known method for drying flowers is pressing. With this method an herb, flower or leaf can be dried flat for pasting or framing (e.g. in a herbarium like we made at school, or on greeting cards or gifts).
These traditional presses have a beautiful natural look, are easy to use and have multiple layers of cardboard. The only difference between the two is the way they can be anchored. The screws and straps ensure that everything remains flat and secure.
Pressing flowers in the microwave
Drying flowers and herbs can take up to 3 weeks. We can imagine that you do not want to wait for this! After the flowers have been picked, you would like to see the result immediately, right? That is possible! With our microwave flower press it is possible to dry flowers within minutes. This way of drying flowers will also preserve the colours better.
Dried lying down
Another drying technique is flower drying while lying down. Most flowers and herbs retain their shape, colour, aroma and taste better when the flowers are dried naturally in the air. With these drying racks the customer can dry more flowers at the same time, because there are multiple stackable layers in the drying rack. The racks also have an open structure for good ventilation.
Dried hanging
Did you know that cut flowers and herbs keep their colour much better when hung upside down? Especially with herbs, it is useful to hang them in a dark, warm and well-ventilated place. This allows them to retain their aroma better, which is useful when used in the kitchen.
This drying technique has a natural way of drying as well as a decorative function. The rope that you can supply is made of paper and can be used to bundle and hang the cut flowers.
3. Decorate
These decorative items give the dried flowers a safe and dust-free stage in the customer's home. This way, dried flowers last even longer! The glass dome protects the dried flowers against dust and is equipped with a metal clip to hold the dried flowers.
The frames for storing various dried flowers are wide enough to set up straight and deep enough to hold a whole flower top. These items are also very nice to give as gifts! In addition to these items you can also sell pre-dried flowers from your own range.
Tip: use hairspray! By spraying hairspray on the dried flowers, the flowers keep their shape even better and they are also less fragile. The flowers can also be sprayed with a colour when they have turned a little brown, because playfully colored dried flowers also do very well!
