As Content Marketer at Esschert Design I get to know the latest products at an early stage. I also have the privilege to walk through the showroom every now and then and discover wonderful products. Of course we have a lot of really cool products, but the ones that really caught my attention were the doormats. That's why I'm going to show you my favourites today!

Before I start with my top 5, it would be good to let you know why I want to show you my favourites. In every house you have several doors. Everyone walks in and out of them. Have you ever felt that there was no doormat when you entered? That feels very strange. Empty even. It's one of those details in a house that just can't be missed.

But what I notice in many houses is that a doormat is simple and doesn't fit in with the rest of the house. And I think that's what attracted me to our doormats. They are a lot of different doormats, different prints and different material. There is a cool doormat for every home.

1. Doormat coir tiger

The undisputed number 1 for me is this coir doormat tiger. A doormat in a figure and a print! As far as I am concerned, this is a true work of art. I would also hang it on the wall or use it as a rug in a jungle room for children. But in my house, it would also do very well as a doormat! I have to admit that I love animal prints anyway and my home has a fairly modern interior. This tiger fits in perfectly with it of course! The doormat is made of coconut fibre, you can easily wipe your shoes on it. This way, you take less dirt inside, which keeps my house a lot cleaner!

This coconut fibre doormat is also available in a zebra mat and cheetah mat. These are also real gems as far as I am concerned!

2. Doormat coconut tropical leaves

This cheerful doormat with tropical leaves brings the jungle right into your home! These tropical leaves bring the garden indoors, blending in beautifully with the outdoors. Thanks to the rough coconut hairs of this doormat, dirt stays outside, ideal! The rough structure of this mat easily sweeps dirt and sand from under the soles of your feet. In the beginning, this mat will lose some coconut fibres, but this will diminish over time. The loose hairs are easily removed by patting the mat.

3. NEW: The PIY doormat with letters

A doormat that you can put your own text on, who wouldn't want that? It makes me really happy! This mat with coconut fibres comes with the letters, paint and a brush to decorate it. I think it's a great idea and I can well imagine that when you move house you let the children make the doormat.

And how nice is it to give this doormat as a present? I think it's a great gift for a housewarming.

Thanks to the strong coconut fibres, you can easily wipe your shoes or boots on this mat, which is great! As well as being fun, a doormat should also be practical. This mat has a PVC backing, so it stays in place and no accidents happen while wiping your feet.

4. The mosaic doormat

My interior is modern, I like trendy items and I like to try out new prints and colours. Yet I live in an old house with old details. And that makes me very happy too! In the hallway, the old tiles have a lot of atmosphere and character, which made me think of this doormat! For people who don't have these tiles, but would like to enjoy this effect, I think this mat with the look of Portuguese mosaic tiles is a great solution. Personally, I love combining old and modern and I see this in many homes. As far as I'm concerned, this doormat is a real winner and an addition to your range. The mat has a firm top layer that cleans the soles. The mat remains firmly in place, thanks to the 100% recycled rubber backing. Cleaning the mat is easy by wiping it down and rinsing it with water.

5. Doormat with chicken print

Are you crazy about animals? Then this doormat with chickens is great for you. Personally, I love this doormat! The chickens make you happy instantly, don't they? It's almost a shame to wipe your feet on it if you ask me. I think this doormat is great to put at the backdoor in the garden. The chickens give me the happy outdoors feeling! I have to say that all our animal doormats made me very happy. It was hard to choose. We have a doormat with an adorable dog and cat and a doormat with kittens.

Besides the fact that this doormat is a real eye-catcher, it is also very nice to use! The 100% recycled rubber on the back of this doormat ensures that the mat is firm and stable. And the mat is easy to clean!
