Mats that keep the dirt out: cleaning mats

A doormat with a good scraping or brushing function cleans shoes and boots thoroughly. They are also called as cleaning mats. These are usually the mats you can put outside, because of their open structure or their coarse fibre.

1. Wire steel doormat

This type of mat is the best choice if you sometimes have really dirty shoes when you get home. The new wire steel mat is a solid and galvanized (iron covered with a layer of zinc) mat and is therefore protected against rust.

A thick mat, for example, lends itself well to a recess in a floor or close to a high treshold.

Absorbing & dirt-resistant doormats

Indoor doormats, often made of cotton chenille and polypropylene, can catch remaining moisture on shoes. They are absorbent and soft which makes them kinder to bare feet.
